Re-caulking my counter top.

Tools required caulk gun, razor knife, caulk removal and tooling kit, metal glass scraper with razor blades to fit,Permaseamseal caulk or equivalent. Carefully using the metal glass scraper detach the existing caulk from the  back splash then the counter also cut the caulk away from the bottom of the back splash and the top of the counter back as far as necessary. Now get the plastic caulk removal tool out or the caulk removal kit it looks like a hook. After all is cleaned up with a duster or old paint brush. if there is any mildew clean with solution of bleach and Jomax by Zinzzer and let dry. Now wipe area to be caulked with denatured alcohol and let dry. You are now ready to caulk. Cut small hole the size of a pin head in the end of the tube (you can always make it bigger if you like) on a 30 degree angle, place some tape around the gun and tape the tube so the angle cut is down. move the caulk gun from one end to the other without stopping if possible in a smooth and controlled motion. Now you are ready to tool the joint get the plastic tooling tool from the caulking kit which best matches the with of the preferred joint, wipe excess off tool and continue. Good Luck!
