Wood or Fiberglass Columns.

Fiberglass is the best choice make sure you follow the manufactures instructions.Flashing at the top to prevent water intrusion will be necessary, Copper, aluminum turn metal.Install a block of mahogany or Spanish ceder in the areas where you want to install your flashing  so the fasteners will not pull out over time Finishing your new columns will be very important use an oil base primer 2 coats all sides, every square inch .Apply NP1 caulking to all joints and any areas needing to be caulked.Apply 2 coats of top quality top coat.
